Low Income Families With Children - 1138 Words
Low-income families with children are a vulnerable population that has needs that must be addressed. I am especially concerned about single mothers with children. They have an issue receiving child care for their children. Some families cannot afford to put their children in high quality child care. While some may not qualify for government assistance because of strict guidelines. Child care assistance in America has always been an issue. Some mothers have made hard choices that were unsafe for their children. ââ¬Å"Working mothers that cannot afford childcare have left their children in cars, with other children that are not capable of caring for them, and with strangersâ⬠, (Michel, 2011, para. 2). These are dicey situations, since the mothers may be blamed. Some may not have a logical solution to their problem. People may judge them, and assume they are selfish. They do not understand the situation these mothers are faced with. Some mothers fear the loss of employment, and do not want to lose their income. The history of child care has been tough. Some officials in the past were not as forthcoming with reforming childcare policies. Child care assistance has been given a bad reputation. ââ¬Å"American child care in the nineteenth century, were made up of provisions that were typically related to the poor, minorities, and immigrants and were stigmatized as charitable and custodialâ⬠(Michel, 2011, para. 5). Many people did not want to help poor individuals. In AmericaShow MoreRelatedLow Income And Lower Class Families Struggle With Providing Their Children1660 Words à |à 7 Pages and respectable life. Pop Art Essay Example Example For Students
Pop Art Essay Example Pop art is a term used to describe popular art, the word popular meaning everyday life. Pop art also varied greatly, from soup cans to comic book art to abstract art. Pop artistis often have satirical or playful intents. This would mean that a pop artist tries to express himself through humorous art. An early pop artist was Andy Warhol, who is known for his drawing of a can of soup.He was American and was born in 1928. He died in 1987. His works can be found at the Whitney museum of American Art and at the Museum of Modern Art. Another American pop artist was Roy Lichenstein. He was born in 1923 and is still living. His work can also be found at the Whitney Museum of modern art and the Museum of Modern Art. Another pop artist was James Rosenquist. He, too, was American. He was born in 1933 and has yet to die. His works may be foundat the Museum of Modern Art and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Yet another American pop artist was Larry Rivers. He was born in 1923 and still lives. His work may be found at the Metropolitian Museum of Art. Robert Rauschienburg was also an American pop artist. He was born in 1925, and, like most of the other artists in this essay, still ives. His work may be found at the Whitney Museum of Art and at the Modern Museum of Art. I chose to describe As I Opened Fire, by Roy Lichenstein. It was made in 1964 and is the the third of three panels in a narrative arrangement. As I Opened Fire is magna on a canvas which is 68 X 56. Its composition reminds of a comic book. It shows 2 guns firing of the side of a ship, with letters on the top saying That my ship was below them The color scheme was very interesting. For backround, Lichenstein used grey-blue. For the guns he used white, grey, and black, giving them a three-dimensional look using shadowing. For the fire coming out of the guns he uses white, orange, and red, making use of complementary colors. The mood is aggressive and warlike, in some way indicating that the ship was part of a surprise attack on an enemey. This picture reminds me of comic book art, in both mood and composition. To me, pop art signifies the most recent type of art. Andy Warhol liked to draw and average soup can. I like to draw desks. Pop art is more complex than earlier types of art, if not in composition and color, in mood. It can express many more things than portraits can, and in more interesting ways.

The Effect of Myelination
Question: Explain the effect of Myelination on the rate of nerve Impulse Conduction? Answer: Conduction of nerve impulse: Nerve impulse is carried through neuron which is regarded as s cell in human nervous system. Respond to any stimulus is done through nerve impulse through neurons. Stimuli may be any kind of touch, sound, light etc and in this way communicate with each other. Calcium and sodium ions are responsible for conduction of nerve impulse. Sodium ions are responsible for membrane potential across the nerve membrane. Membrane potential helps in transfer of signal through active sodium potassium pump. Sodium ions move outside from inside the nerve and potassium ions move inside from outside creating an action potential which carries the nerve impulse. Calcium ions are released from voltage gated channels of calcium at the synapse of one neuron to another and trigger the release of neurotransmitter molecules (2). Neurotransmitter molecules are responsible for activation of post synaptic neuron which causes transfer of responses from one neuron to another. E.g. of a neurotransmitter is acetylcholine. Receptors are the membrane units which are required to identify the receptive molecules. For e.g. acetylcholine receptor at post synaptic neuron which receives signal after receipting acetylcholine molecules. Enzymes are responsible for conduction of nerv e response as they help in movement of sodium and potassium ions across membrane, helps in release of calcium ions and neurotransmitter. Effect of myelination on rate of nerve impulse: Myelin sheath is present surrounding the axon of neuron and is secreted by glial cells. It helps in fast conduction of nerve impulse as myelin is made up of fat and fat acts as insulator so do not conduct impulse. Sodium channels which are present at high concentration at nodes help in faster conduction as impulse will jump from node to node and transfer signal faster (1). References Gutkin, B. and G. B. Sample Graduate Analysis Essay - How To Write One
Sample Graduate Analysis Essay - How To Write OneIn the age of technology, a sample graduate analysis essay article is an excellent tool to study the language and technical details. The formal format for this type of essay was developed in the mid-nineteenth century by the English professor Arthur Hummel at Stanford University. Nowadays, this kind of essay is used by people who want to write for serious academic purposes, as well as for the jobs market. There are two ways to write an essay. The first one is through the standard form of an essay that students and job applicants use. The other is to include the sample essay, which is a direct translation from academic to the marketplace.Employers will not be satisfied if you do not go into the details of your interest, but they may look at your writing skill and seriousness. If you can come up with a short sentence or two that explains your main issue, then this may help you a lot. The analysis essay article is not a process of philosop hy or any philosophical works. Rather, it is just describing the issues as they are identified in the modern world, and the best that you can do to reach to these issues is to make a short statement about them. Some employers might ask that you also translate this essay into the academic form, so that you can have it evaluated. Although some of them might be looking for the best way to measure the English skills of an applicant, you will probably not have the chance to do this in the short time. Your main concern should be to use the sample essay as a basis for this kind of essay. You can not include all the information of the same level, because it may spoil the whole method of presenting the essay. It might be very difficult to get through to your employer, especially if you come across as a reluctant writer. So, you should know what the things that will matter to your boss are. The analysis article will help you a lot if you can show them how your personality comes across in your w riting, the way you handle things in the company, and how you improve. By explaining how you conduct yourself and how you come across when interacting with your co-workers, you will be able to give them a real idea about your character. You should not include a general level of technical detail in your essay. It would be much better if you can translate the article into a shorter format, so that you can include a few words on this topic. The selection of a company will probably depend on its reputation and the working environment in which you will be working.Even though you have an opportunity to include the general level of detail, it will only be helpful if you can use it with the kind of essay that is expected by your employer. You should include a few sentences which explains what your job is and the role you play in the company. This is important because if you can use it to your advantage, then the interview can go a lot easier. An analysis essay that is kept short and straight to the point will not only make you more impressive, but also make you look much more professional.

Enterprises Selective Segmentation Essays - Marketing, Target Market
Enterprise's Selective Segmentation Enterprise's Selective Segmentation The rental car market was once only focused on national travelers. Enterprise brought in the segment of neighborhood, setting up branches in for people who needed rental cars as replacements when their cars were wrecked, stolen, or in the shop. With Enterprise's look at a new segment of the car rental market, other competing companies have now dabbed into new bases for segmenting the rental car market. The bases for segmenting the rental car market can be broken down from the four categories of geographical, demographic, behavioral, and psychographic segmentation. From a geographic segmentation aspect, staying in the United States, the car rental market can be found in almost every town, region, and climate. People are at a lost in today's world without a car, therefore rental car companies can establish a franchise anywhere geographically, with the exception of highly secluded villages. Demographically, individuals between the ages of 18-64 are the prime target age. Any individual, from the single male or the married female with four children can find a use for a rental car, whether it be for a long business trip, or for the family to car-pool to a regional soccer tournament in a van. College students and parents of college students are known to be a target market. Students need to rent cars from the airport to drive to campus, as do parents when they visit, or take the long voyag e from home. Behaviorally, consumers use rental cars occasionally, therefore most look for comfortable, quality, economically sound cars that they can trust. Finally, psychographically the car rental market has the bases of the middle class up to upper class appeal with those that are achievers and strivers for work and excellence. Marketing changes that Enterprise could make are many. Enterprise could expand into the airport region, and even next to other transportation industries. Setting up franchises next to companies like Amtrak and Greyhound would give consumers an option of driving themselves the rest of the way on a long trip. Themes would also give Enterprise a beat on competition. Enterprise could have a ?moving? section where they rent out moving vans or trucks, in a way that U-Haul operates. Another theme would be to have one color for all types of cars, or even have a logo on the side of each car. If Enterprise wants to continue being number one though, it should stay with what has worked. Marketing to the ?home-city? market is where the majority of the target market lies. Enterprise must do some updating to its marketing though now that competing companies are expanding into the same market. Enterprise needs a variety of vehicles to stay on top at economical prices. Studying what the most reliable , popular cars are where they should start. Knowing that Jetta's and Volvo's are attractive, family oriented cars; they should buy some in volume with different options from CD-players, to air conditioning. Enterprise should also buy a healthy amount of travel vans. The number does of course have everything to do with the region. You would want a lot of vans in a large city, or in a college environment where sports teams and clubs are plentiful. Finally, Enterprise should buy some high quality sports cars for those that like to look important or even for the high school seniors going to their senior prom. Enterprise cannot afford to buy too many of these however for it will need to be rented out a lot to make up the cost. Enterprise does not want to buy five Dodge Vipers at $70,000 when they only need one because not too many consumers will have the money to rent a car of that quality. Enterprise attacked an uncharted market segment, proving that high risk provides high rewards. Now that the other competing brands are moving in to dilute the area, Enterprise must retool its marketing plans, or go find another profitable market segment. Marketing and Advertising
